Create Repository

Repositories are typically created by developers, with managers overseeing the process. Follow these steps to create new repositories or adding additional ones. The guide includes visual aids to help you understand the process and ensure a smooth setup.

Steps for creation of Repository

Step 1: Click the "Create new" button to start creating your first repository. An overlay panel titled 'Create new repository' will appear on the right.

Step 2: Choose the application type for your repository: Qlik Sense App or Extension/Mashup. After choosing the application type, select the server and click 'Get applications' to fetch available applications and streams.

Note

Servers are typically managed and added by administrators. If you need guidance on adding a server, Add Server section to view the steps involved.

Step 3: Choose the stream, then select application from the stream and click "Proceed" to add to the repository. The panel will refresh. Provide a concise commit message and description for the repository.

Note

Here, you can review the selected application's name and the connected server's name after once application is selected.You can also edit the repository name (defaults to the application name). But as a developer, you can't edit the project name as it's assigned by managers.

Step 4: Click "Create" to initiate the creation of the repository. Once created, you'll receive a confirmation message indicating the successful creation of the repository.

Congratulations! You have successfully created repository.

Creation of Bulk Repository

The bulk import functionality allows users to efficiently create and manage multiple repositories simultaneously. Whether you are importing repositories for the first time or adding additional repositories to an existing list, this guide will walk you through the necessary steps to ensure a smooth and efficient import process.

First-time Bulk import

If you are creating your first Bulk Repositories on an empty Repository page, you will find the "Bulk Import" in empty Repository page, Click on it.

Additional Bulk Repositories

If repositories already exist on the Repository page, you can create additional Bulk Repositories by:

  • Clicking the "Action" button at top right corner of the repository page.
  • Within the Action, click "Bulk Import".

  • View existing Repositories: The Repository page displays a list of existing repositories, including their details such as Repository name, Project name, Server name, Creator, Branches, Available actions.

Importing Bulk Repositories

Step 1: Click the "Bulk Import" to start importing Bulk Repositories. An overlay panel titled 'Bulk import repositories' will appear on the right.

Step 2: Choose the application type for your repository: Qlik Sense App or Extension/Mashup. Then select the server and click 'Get applications' to fetch available applications and streams.

Step 3: User can click "Select all" to select all applications once or choose required stream, then select multiple applications from the stream and click "Proceed" to add to the repository.

Step 4: The panel will reload. Write a commit message for the repository. You can review the selected application's type and the connected server's name. You can also edit the repository name (defaults to the application name). But as a developer, you can't edit the project name as it's assigned by managers.

Step 5: Click "Create" to initiate the bulk creation of the repositories. Once created, you will receive a confirmation message indicating the successful bulk creation of the repositories.

Managing Repositories

  • Your newly created repositories will be listed alongside existing ones on the repositories page.

  • You can now efficiently manage multiple repositories for your projects!

  • In the actions column of the repositories table, developers can perform actions such as cloning the repository or comparing changes between versions.
