Gauge Chart

The SenseOps Gauge Chart is used to visualize values using a circular or radial gauge.
It provides a compact and intuitive way to track and compare values within a defined context.

The chart supports one dimension with a single measure, or multiple measures, to display one or more arcs within the gauge.

Accessing Gauge Chart

Step 1. Open Qlik Sense Application: Open your Qlik Sense Hub and choose the application where you want to add the Gauge Chart.

Step 2. Enter Edit Mode: Navigate to the sheet or create a new one where the Gauge Chart will be placed. Enter Edit Mode to make changes.

Step 3. Access Custom Objects: In the left panel, click on Custom Objects to open the menu.

Step 4. Select SenseOps Extension: Locate and select SenseOps from the custom objects list.

Step 5. Add SenseOps Gauge Chart: Find the SenseOps Gauge Chart extension and drag it onto the sheet canvas.

Configuring the Gauge

Gauge Layout

Use Activity Gauge Settings to control how the gauge is displayed.

  • Choose between Circular and Radial display modes.
  • Adjust arc thickness to control visual emphasis.
  • Configure spacing between arcs when multiple measures are used.
  • Control arc edge rounding using the corner radius option.

These settings help adapt the gauge to different dashboard layouts.

Colors and Visual Styling

Customize the appearance of the gauge to match application themes.

  • Configure the active arc color.
  • Enable and style the remaining arc.
  • Adjust remaining arc opacity and thickness.
  • Set a background color for the chart.

Percentage Guides

  • Enable percentage label guides to display reference values around the gauge.
  • This helps users interpret values more easily.

Inner Content

The inner area of the gauge can be used to display contextual information.

Icon or Image

  • Enable the inner description to display an icon or image.
  • Icons support Font Awesome names or unicode values.
  • Control icon size, color, and vertical alignment.

Text, Title, and Value

You can display text inside the gauge to provide context.

  • Title – describes the metric.
  • Value – displays a numeric or expression-based value.

For both title and value, you can customize:

  • Font family
  • Font size
  • Font color
  • Font style
  • Vertical positioning

Arc Labels

Arc labels provide information directly on the gauge.

  • Enable labels to display text along the arc.
  • Enable values to display measure values on the arc.
  • Configure font properties for both labels and values.
  • Optionally display the maximum value on the gauge.

Legend

The legend provides additional context.

  • Enable or disable the legend.
  • Control legend position.
  • Adjust spacing and title size.
  • Optionally limit dimension character length.

User Interaction

Control how users interact with the gauge.

  • Enable read-only mode to prevent selections.
  • Enable quick-select to apply selections with a single click.

Animations

  • Enable animations to improve visual transitions.
  • Adjust animation speed to control transition timing.

Actions

Actions can be configured on the inner description.

  • Actions are triggered when the inner content is clicked.
  • Multiple actions can be added and managed.
